South32's coal division is known as South African Enterprise Coal (SAEC).
A divestment occured when the South African government advised it would be looking to purchase its coal from local South African owned businesses. This meant that the coal asset for South32 would be divested.
A similar story to the creation of South32 being divested from BHP.
The need to transfer the SAEC records from South32 was the driving nature of this engagement. The historical records and the environment needed to be created and transferred.
Transferring the data for the identified business units was simple enough and the need to bring across historical data and create the new environment.
We had delivered on this type of project before and as such we knew exactly to course of action to undertake.
Delivered again on time, actually ahead, of the customer requirements.
